AnewGoInc Chief Information Officer
Responsibilities:
# apply the common information resources of the AnewGo community to serve the citizens of AnewGo profitably.

Candidates:
# JimScarver (votes: JimScarver, KenSchry, PhillipBannigan 4/8/03 your name here)

JimScarver platform:
# use of the best available collaborative knowledge management and work flow tools and web object architecture.
# capitalizing on utilizing our unused computational resources for our common benefit.
----
AnewGo infrastructure status
AnewGo runs on anewgo.org, provided by Xanthus Inc on WikiWorld
*There is a loose plan to separate AnewGo with it's own TikiWiki or http://Plone.org community (like MooWiki:FrontPage ) providing independence from WikiWorld and lots of additional virtual community functionality.

Email aliases are provided by MailBot. There have been few takers.

Scalability: How do we grow?

As we identify "volunteered" computing resources, I will manually assign hostnames.anewgo.org for services, which include fifile storesdatabases, redundancy, etc.

The next step is the AnewGoComputingCooperative where my PC become JimScarver.AnewGo.org and we share resources for backup and common interest processes. The plan is to add name services aliasing to MailBot so that both static and dynamic IP addresses can be reassigned names simply.

We could amass a lot of resources providing host names for machines on dynamic IP addresses. Citizens should probably get some kind of credit for the resources used on their personal, or business machines.

A cooperative network is required for AnewGo because its IT budget is zero.

Such a network could be a tremendous asset, it could attract members and make a profit, well, maybe not profit exactly, but we might get paid for some of our efforts at least.

It should be possible to invest our shared resources profitably. Profit need not be monetary, when we want the same things, many hands make lite work, and we save money by sharing costs, capitalizing on computing resources that would otherwise have been wasted.

PubWan is an ideal application, not a money maker perhaps, but attracting more computing resources for whatever people whatever data anyone wants to make transparent(public).

In addition to the investment of computing resources, AnewGo need investment any way it can get it. The bank should be a currency exchange, a credit union and an investment club. You can play with the big boys when we put our money together as individuals.

Allowing NewMoney currencies is still a great idea. The more currencies, the merrier==== The infrastructure for currency exchange will also be profitable. But funny money will only work if there are real value or recognized currency behind them. Computing resources represent real value when accompanied by real capital (including donations).
====

Immediate needs
Our initial objective is to get our ICANN .ag designation. To this end recruitment is primary. Once we can sell .ng domains, or trade them for services, recruitment may be easier, but that would be after the fact unfortunately.

Perhaps offering hostnames.anewgo.net addresses for dynamic IP customers temporarily, until we can give them real hostname.ng domain for their personal PC might help generate members.

The level of interest in AnewGo has not been very high. I guess we need to wait a little and see what it will become. My time is very limited and I haven't participated in developing effective group processes as I had hoped, but the process is simple.

# Identify deliverables
# Time lines, and clear
# assignment of responsibilities.

Groups that do not do that, do not succeed.

-- JimScarver
----
The biggest problem you face right now is usage and participation in AnewGo. Right now we have 6 citizens and 1 "resident". I'm assuming because of the halt in progress, many of the citizens have lost interest in AnewGo and drifted away. Right now it's not going to matter what laws you put forth, what tasks you delegate, anything. The number of citizens/residents is holding us back. Our first and immediate task is to increase interest and knowledge of AnewGo and at that point, we may be able to start. --KenSchry

Well, I've been doing my part. I've been informing people whose interest overlaps with WikiWorld and AnewGo about here. And I will continue to do so, as long as I think they or here will benefit... ---StarPilot
----
To the extent that I| have any moral standing as MotherOfPubwan, I approve of pubwan technology as a means to AnewGo ends to the extent that "transparency" is a STRICTLY HIGHER priority than profit. If the ideological (ok, philosophical whatever) imperatives of WikiWorld itself are too pro-business to be compatible with pubwan, I'll happily take the pubwan content elsewhere. Thank you for your patience (and so far) patronage.
----
As founder of PubWan, you can do whatever you like. But WikiWorld plays a small part in AnewGo, if the idea to have a separate supported TikiWiki for it goes through, it will be even farther distanced. But in order for the ideals (ie: JimScarvers Platform, Pubwan-AnewGo idea) to take place, we need expanded interest in AnewGo, sufficient to sustain it beyond the virtual government idea, to this platform and such. --KenSchry
----
You realize that AnewGo isn't really a new government, right? It's just a digital community. Perhaps if it grows sufficently, it might become something more, but at it's root, its just one more community. One that decided to try and formalize how to resolve certain aspects of community life (who makes up the rules, how to debate them, how to debate whether a rule is fine as is or needs changing or dropping, etc...) ---StarPilot
----
New features are available at http://h2o.law.harvard.edu/ViewProject.do?projectID<code>108 including open discussion. I stongly advise we use it as a decision aid unless we have something better. Please register if you have not. I advertized AnewGo at http://ryze.com 500 citizens of the world network http://www.ryze.com/postdisplay.php?confid</code>34&messageid=58334 and http://newciv.org http://www.newciv.org/nl/newslog.php/_v106
----
AnewGo is rather chaotic at present, perhaps it should be a ChaordicSystem
*AnewGo is Choatic at this time because of the sense of loss on what to do. We seem to have been stuck in a rut. By the way, anyone hear from PhillipBannigan recently? Maybe he could help us with that.

;;: No, it isn't at a loss. AnewGo is merely the community of those that participate. It is merely the sum of what we want to do. What is it that you want to do, KenSchry? How can you fit that into AnewGo, or how can AnewGo fit in with that? ---StarPilot
