New page

All of this is theory, come up with when I was half-asleep, so if you think it's bullshit that's fine because it probably is........

I have heard from a lot of people that "This Generation is Spoiled", and "In my time we were Thankful/Respectful" (I'd like to say that NOT ALL of the younger persons are not respectful...). They think that television, computers and technological advances, fashion and all have made this generation spoiled. I don't think that's true.

What I believe is that it works as a continuing cycle.
*Our parents were considered spoiled when they were young.
*This generation is considered spoiled and lazy.

It's a basis of when you are young, ''''you are immature''''.

It's a fact of life. Older persons have learned the way of life, younger are still learning.

When we are older we may think our children's generation spoiled, lazy and stupid.

Tell me if you have ideas, disagreements or other theories

==Counterpoint==
I think in general, this is correct. However, there really is also something to this. Most people of our generation are not getting up at 4 am to do a long list of chores, then walk to school, then come home to work the farm until well past sunset OR have to go to the mill to put in a good 6 hours of work and then go home to do another long list of chores.

As a guideline, the generations after the Great Depression in the States have been having a physically simpler life then those that came before them. And in that sense, each generation is indeed, lazy. We are also spoiled, in that we enjoy a lifestyle that wasn't even dreamed of by our ancestors.

However, that doesn't mean that our lives have gotten any less stressful compared to our ancestors. I think stress for stress, we are still about equal. Merely what causes us to be stressed has changed. ---[[StarPilot]]
