New page

Wiki is a good collaborative tool. I've applied it to a number of intranets, internal company websites, to meed a variety of needs.
==== collaborative
====
# planning
# proceedures
# documentation
# Intenet link management
# reporting

The main requirement for making a Wiki useful in an intranet is authentication. I've used three kinds.
# loose, .htaccess group password (easiest)
# tighter, group password for read, unix password for write.
# tight, .htaccess for read and write with php scripts to manage .htaccess permissions by user and group.

There are also features i have added that help make intranet wikis work
# send modification notifications to email list.
