New page

Only a Chair may modify this page. After a MainMotion has been placed on the page NewMainMotions and seconded, it is moved from that page to this one by a Chair.

While it is here, changes to the motion may be suggested in normal wiki-style on the motion's page, but they are only suggestions, and the mover is entitled to have the final say on how it is worded (if there is a problem with someone editing the motion against the mover's will, the mover may email a Chair saying what the real text of the motion is). Seconders may withdraw their seconds if a motion if modified. If a motion is too long without enough seconds, a Chair may drop it out of the queue.

After Main Motions reach the top of the queue, they are moved from this page to CurrentMainMotions as spots on that page become available.

By general consent, a Chair may choose a motion that is not at the top of the MainMotionsQueue to be moved onto CurrentMainMotions. But, any one may make a PointOfOrder in PointsOfOrderMain that the motion is not at the top of the queue, and then the chair has the option either to

* put that motion back and replace it with the motion at the top of the MainMotionsQueue
* or to put that motion back and replace it with a special undebatable IncidentalMotion that the motion in question be FastTrack ed.
Robert's Rules Part I, Article I, Section 2 | has some information on amending motions. There is not really any comparable process to the Queue, though, because Robert's Rules are more linear than ours.
