I've been going to [[McGoverns]] for 30 years, off and on.

Skipper retired today.

Skipper was thrilled that I made it, and announced his usual greeting. "Jimbo, A hell of an man. Good to see you."

I think Scully's (Bill) internment (after selling the place) is about over too.

He also gave me a warm welcome and hug, Scully has always been a "god" to me. He acknowleged my presents loudly, "Jimbo, [[LegendInMyOwnMind|A legend in his own mind]]."

For some reason the party was at Hamelton's, a bar named for Skipper's son who is no longer a partner in that business. I guess the party room is bigger. The two "restaurants are "family" to all of us anyhow.

To bad I didn't bring my camera today, it was a real zoo.

I frequented [[McGoverns]] 1974 till 2001, when I was not at [[TheJasmine]], I was really full of myself that night being such a celebrity and all. Scully put me in my place like noone since Zappa live in 69, "You are Groovey Man!" in a catharsis of jazz perfection, with the cresendo falling deeply into "You ain't gone nowhere Man....", immediatly invoking melodic orchestration from heaven far beyond mear mortal imagination.

Skipper's son "Mikey" has since bought another bar in Newark on University near Raymond, across the street, east of Essex county college. I got pics somewhere....
