New page

A pubwan "cell" might (or might not) consist of the following:

* taxonomer
* "mystery shopper"
* interstitial liaison
* catch weight clerk

In practice, a "many-to-many" relationship between roles and volunteers might be most feasible, although some volunteers will no doubt have a tendency to "specialize". As with individual volunteers, pubwan cells themselves might well specialize:

* legal cell--researching IP status of price tags and other stuff traditionally taken for granted as fair (use) game. Strategies for defending the pubwan movement (or the larger "open systems movement") against lawsuits, etc.

* software development cell-- developing nonproprietary protocols for sharing of files relevant to the project. Developing public domain software for data entry and user interface with pubwan base tables.

* hardware development cell--developing devices for data capture, and perhaps sometimes for STEALTH. Also "maximally ported" household appliances could prove useful.

* mobile cell--A mobile cell might be a small group of volunteers travelling in a mobile home, or perhaps a tag-team semi tractor. These cells might attach themselves to pubwan trailer parks or pubwan semi trailer gatherings, respectively. This idea is probably all wet, and I will probably get explained why in short order as there be trucking industry types in [[WikiWorld]].

* publishing cell--Compilation of low-entropy excerpts of pubwan data for "unwired" users, for publication as periodicals, "catalogs", reference books and other publications media that don't need batteries.

* research cell--Researching "fair uses" of scientific data about subjects such as humyn nutrition, economics, statutory "product class definitions", ingredient chemistry, and other "disciplines" relevant to the project. Encoding of such information when necessary to machine-readible or "tabular" formats.
