Although many of the members of [[WSM]] arrived at their view by thinking about matter and waves as regards atomic particles, [[RayTomes]] arrived at the view by a more circuitous route. He studied cycles in all things from the largest and slowest to the smallest and fastest and found that there existed a pattern of harmonically related periods (or frequencies). This is fully discussed at http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~ray.tomes/ so only the parts particularly relevant to [[WSM]] are listed below.

* The Harmonics theory predicts the distance scale of structure from the Hubble scale down, including galaxies, stars, planets, moons, ... cells, atoms, nucleons. This shows clearly that they are all a common type of wave.
* The Harmonics theory predicted a new particle with mass ~34.76Mev in 1994 and a particle of about this mass was discovered and reported in 1995 at KARMEN.
* Larger scale waves act as focussing devices (partial containment) for smaller scale waves) and without this understanding any theory, [[WSM]] or standard, is doomed to fauilure.
* The universe is not static, it is evolving because the basic wave equation is non-linear and that forces all waves to lose energy to their harmonics.
