Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation

Often refered to as CMB in Astronomy and Cosmology.

It is the radiation unleashed about 380,000 years after the BigBang, when the universe had first expanded enough to cool and allow atoms to form. Due to the expansion of the Universe, this radiation has been red-shifted into the Microwave range.
