Zero point is zero point for the most part. In general only energy higher than the ZPE is really usefull for anything.

The sound of a sea shell or the sound of a crystal radio tuned to where there is no transmission is energy from the edge of the ZPE.

• Note: The sound of a sea shell is the sound of your own body (blood). That isn't exactly ZPE.

The problem of extracting energy from the ZPE is information theoretical and can only be done with a mechanism like the WhitescarverClock. I have tried, theorectically, some techneques not unlike the other quacks above, but found none that work on a large scale yet. At the scale of a speck of dust (the Plank mass, mesoscale), it can, in theory, be done.
