We may be seeing the extreme problems presented by the existence of the Geneva Convention in Iraq now. The US has suceeded in removing the Legal and Administrative structure of Iraq, but will steadfastly deny any responsibility for the resulting Civil Disorder.

This is the first time since World War 2 that a nation fully functioning, has been reduced to a total mess in only 2 weeks.

Pardon? The US is working hard to establish an Iraqi Interm Government, and will try to influence the eventual government that forms afterward to a form and consistancy that our administration likes.

Second, the US reduced Afghanistan, a fully functional government, in short order as well.

Third, this is not the first time since WW2. The USSR has done so, on numerous occasions. If we just open our eyes and check history, will will find plenty of others as well. Including the French and Chinese, just to name two nations.

Your viewpoint seems very narrow. Are you just not familar with modern history, or did it just slip your conscious awareness? ---StarPilot

If this were the end of it I would be greatful. With our sights set on Syria ans Iran this may be just the beginning of world war three. This week the US has a friendly face but we have an administration that seems bent on making enemies out of all that disagree with our foreign policies which have not had a good track record. The only logical conclusion of this approach is US against the world. Nobody can win. I pray it ends now. The assertion of international law can only come from the people of the US and they do not believe international law can work. Somehow WE must prove to them that it can work, if only they world put their power behind it. -- JimScarver

I'm not sure the other examples go to proove any moral power to the Geneva Convention or the belligerant states. Yes Afganistan is a good example of the mess it creates. Once the disliked legal structure is removed people have to endure the lawless "transitional" period.

Will the US be happy with legal suits for compensation because of the presant loss of property and life in Iraq be taken out against it, since it is the only admistration now? The US military continues to state that all is going to plan, if this is true, then it is responsible.

Anyway these messes are not the concern of this page, merely examples of the problem.

It may be possible for AnewGo to take a leading role, and NOT recognise the Geneva Convention as another example of barbaric law and behaviour. See WarLaw
