Wiki is a good collaborative tool. I've applied it to a number of intranets, internal company websites, to meed a variety of needs. ==== collaborative

The main requirement for making a Wiki useful in an intranet is authentication. I've used three kinds.

  1. loose, .htaccess group password (easiest)
  2. tighter, group password for read, unix password for write.
  3. tight, .htaccess for read and write with php scripts to manage .htaccess permissions by user and group.

There are also features i have added that help make intranet wikis work

  1. send modification notifications to email list.
