The VotingPeriod is what happens when a Motion comes to a vote. Voting may not be closed less than one week from the opening of a VotingPeriod, nor more than one and one half months after the opening. Only a Chair may close a VotingPeriod.

The one week VotingPeriod minimum ensures that you may check only once a week without missing anything. Chairs are encouraged to lengthen the voting period as necessary to provide everyone a chance to vote.

Note that any member may declare their vote BEFORE the opening of a VotingPeriod. All such declarations must be made on the page corresponding to the motion. Such declarations may be changed at any time by that member. This allows members to go on vacation or to be out of touch during a VotingPeriod while still having an influence on questions.
