BPM/ERP

Kuehne Chemical Company

While Managing Fleet Operations and PH Doremus Chemical Company division of The Chloramone Corporation/Kuehne Chemical, I determined that the organization was mismanaging operations, sales/marketing, and administrative activity as a result of unclear definitions and boundaries of responsibilities. The problems were rooted in geographical misallocation of resources in that operations spanned seven states out of three locations. Excessive redundancies and underutilized specialties resulted in extreme inefficiencies. Business Process Modeling (BPMN) revealed that the solution was a reorganization of the corporate infrastructure and managerial responsibilities throughout. Using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) I was able to design and implement a wide area network ADP system for order processing and administration. Sales, operations and administration became separate and distinct specialties that were manageable and efficient.

In response to recent distress in the US Economy, we have proposed a sales and marketing solution for general freight LTL motor carriers. Using Business Process Modeling and a compressive knowledge of the industry, the solution is designed to increase carrier market share. It is driven by exploiting some basic Information Technology tactics to bolster customer confidence and accessibility. While we have presently targeted only one carrier, the proof of concept is applicable to any general freight LTL motor carrier.
