[[|http://www.xanthus.net/jim/campout030709/thumbnails.html MORE PICS]] VIEWER WARNING: My belly is rather gross. Thankfully I've lost 15 pounds of that.
Appearently most of Rosco's pics from sunfish pond were lost. But we finally got the ones that survived==== Good timing cause it sort of dampens the blow of all they pics on WikiWorld served off synergy that were lost last week when synergy died.

The deluge started just when we found the campsite, right on the lake, most got a bit wet, but it was a great spot, perfect day sunday, and many more great pics in our memories. Jessica now understands how wonderful a big fire can be.
0308 Noname turned out to be a disappointment, almost filled in with growth, deep red iron water, no good swim spots or drinkable water. But we did find trails connecting to Cedar Pond (great for biking too====)and got a great workout and good weather. Bob seemed suprised when i leaped off the high cliff into Terrace without hestitation (I was hot from hiking), Eric made his first jump from there this trip. We saw bear shit about every 50 feet in the woods, but the bears only got the food we didn't bring, left in my parents garage. The Misquitoes loved Jessica.

So where to next folks? The options are still open....
looks like to are starting saturday morning the 30, Terrace pond morning, noname campout Sat night, Sunday we are off to the shore and will camp at Allair State Park, if no legal campsite is available, oh well, we'll find an isolated spot along the Manasquan river, or in the nearby pine barrens. Its not too last to decide to come to either or both, we have extra camping gear at present. ====Next Campout Aug 29th to Sept. 1, come one day or all! (see update above)

The trip to NC went well here are some [[|http://www.whitescarver.com/movies/IM000304.AVI teddy's pics||http://synergy.xanthusinc.com/~jim/images/NC]] |http://synergy.xanthusinc.com/~jim/images/WV2/ and a great movie of biking in the stream.
Bob's campout will be in WV Aug 9th, Bob, Teddy, John, James, etc. plan to make it.
Greg and I can't hack traveling 16 hours for a weekend campout, but plan a smaller wilderness campout Aug 9th and 10th at sunfish pond in the Delaware Water gap national recreation area. 'All of WikiWorld is invited====' Technically Appalachian trail hikers must camp at the shelter near culvers gap, I don't plan on making it that far myself, but those inclined can go on to culvers gap on Sunday and get picked up there. The hike to sunfish is about 3 1/2 miles which should be easy if we start in the morning on Saturday, coming back is down hill on Sunday or 8 to 10 miles on to culvers gap.

We will meet near the park office and have a little picnic by the river waiting for everyone to arrive. Then we will park in the north west hikers parking lot (across 80 from the park office) and start hiking about 10:15. If anyone wants to climb mt tamminy first, leave an hour earlier and meet us by the falls at the bottom of the blue trail.
So far Greg, Jessica, Harriet and I are going, michelle if she doesn't have work, and two Paul's might make it. This is wilderness camping, there are no facilities...
Sunfish pond is top right. Detail below.
Bob goes on vacation on July 4th. He and Eric will be meeting Bill Sirk and son half way (NC) for some camping. Then its up to West Virginia on the 10th to the 13th where they will meet up with James and Erin for camping. Bob is trying to get others to join them. John and Karen are sounding affirmative. Bill and Phyl are playing calender musical chairs. Let him know if you can get away. Call Bob or Bill or email Bill.
are james and erin going to west virginia, or do you mean jeff and erin? or are they back in colorado.... i'm never sure. so many brothers, so little time.... -Meesh
James and Erin won't make it there but are camping with us tomorrow night at cedar lake in west milford nj. all are welcome... Bill, Phil and crew are heading to the outer islands of delaware instead, but who knows. I want to do an overnight down the delaware soon and camp on an island, who's in? may do an appliation trail overnight segment with jessica's vegitarian club this summer too. Still hoping to train some mustangs in Kinnelon this summer, if I can get there... --JimScarver
