CriticalChainProjectManagement

From WikiWorld

Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is the new paradigm for ProjectManagement that focus's on OrganizationalProductivity. The more complex a task, the more time sensitive, the more CCPM becomes valuable as a resource scheduling methodology.

ExtremeProgramming (XP) is user centered and does not formally address OrganizationalProductivity with respect to resource allocation. It is an enabling methodology focusing of effectively delivering reliable and useful software solutions in an evolutionary, rather than revolutionary manner. What to build is user driven, when to build what in an organizational issue independent of the extreme methodology used to implement it.

From the XP perspective, CCPM resource management serves relationship management with users. The TheoryOfConstraints behind CCPM can and should be applied to a much broader set of organizational activities and relationships including supply chain management, operations, and fulfillment.

A common framework for activity coordination across all relationships would best serve OrganizationalProductivity.
