From WikiWorld

I created a yahoo chat group, under Cultures & Community, Groups; User Rooms, Collective intelligence.

annihilant: collective intelligence?
jimscarver: we are many
annihilant: many what?
jimscarver: we share thoughts, and enrich the whole with our unique thoughts
annihilant: how is that
jimscarver: http://www.wikiworld.com/wiki/index.php/CollectiveIntelligence
jimscarver: http://www.wikiworld.com/wiki/index.php/NetworkTheory
jimscarver: what are you into?
annihilant: things...
annihilant: lol
annihilant: anarchy,
annihilant: and stuff
annihilant: i don't really understand this collective intelligence idea, or more or less the concept of eliminating unique thoughts jimscarver: wrong, capitalizing on unique throughts
jimscarver: eliminating unique thoughts is collective stupidity, mob rule.
annihilant: okay
annihilant: fine
annihilant: i don't get the point, what is the purpose behind this "Collective Intelligence"
jimscarver: populate the galaxy and beyong
jimscarver: beyond
annihilant: how many people call you a nut case do you think?
jimscarver: maximize human potential...
annihilant: no offense, i would say i'm a nut case
jimscarver: many
annihilant: how do you intend to acomplish this idea of Collective Intelligence?
annihilant: do you mean something kind of in relation to the science fiction Borg charcters of Star Trek?
jimscarver: it exists.... we are learning how to facilitate it aty wikiworld.
jimscarver: no, borg lives for itself, we live for eachother
jimscarver: http://www.wikiworld.com/wiki/index.php/SocialContract
annihilant: okay, i still don't get it though, and you keep throwing these web pages at me, and i look at them, and there are words, and they are english, but they don't really say anything to me, i feel like i'm reading Old English text while half asleep or something
jimscarver: it is recognition of the importance and value of each individual getnerating value through cooperative diversity.
jimscarver: gess that doesnt help....
annihilant: well it would
jimscarver: generating
annihilant: if i only knew why
annihilant: i don't see the point
jimscarver: so that we can each fulfill our dreams to the extent that we don't infringe on the fredoms of others,
jimscarver: and populate the galaxy and beyond
annihilant: from what i understand though, it sounds like one big socialogical experiment about group collaboration
jimscarver: everyone should have everything they want, if we continually create value, they will.
jimscarver: i suppose, there are varuos aspects....
jimscarver: on the science side, it is discovering how group problem solution can be better than the best individual solution rather than the lowest common denomonator.
jimscarver: you have a problem, WE have the answer
johnw602003 joined the room
jimscarver: that's the goal sort of...
annihilant: so everyone else is going to try to help me with my problems? I don't like that idea... other people telling me what's best... that right there would infringe on my beliefs if nothing else
johnw602003 left the room
jimscarver: only if you want help.
annihilant: i see
jimscarver: no one can tell anyone what to believe, beliefs are not chosen, they are felt.
jimscarver: it is accepting human nature, synergising when profitable to all, sustaining growth of the life organism.
annihilant: what about people who seem to need to feel dominance
annihilant: perhaps dictators are good examples
jimscarver: Bush and Saddam should both step down....
annihilant: yes, i think so too
annihilant: but they won't
annihilant: not from what i can tell
jimscarver: WE don't have to follow them, we are an international community free of any government.
annihilant: well... how are you defining government there
jimscarver: geographical authority. mobile beings are independent.
annihilant: so each person acts for themselves?
annihilant: completely
jimscarver: right
jimscarver: it is just, live and let live, plus many hands make light work when we want the same things.
jimscarver: http://www.wikiworld.com/wiki/index.php/MarsFrontier
annihilant: lol
annihilant: hmmmm
annihilant: i live under a current government, i cannot avoid it, or not follow them to some extent
jimscarver: thats why we need a http://www.wikiworld.com/wiki/index.php/DeclarationOfInterdependence
annihilant: you're really serious
jimscarver: yes.
annihilant: who are you that you speak so much of this?
jimscarver: hang on, brb, http://www.wikiworld.com/wiki/index.php/JimScarver
annihilant: k
jimscarver: I am a legion in my own mind
annihilant: okay
annihilant: what kind of problems would this group deal with?
cairo16uk joined the room
cairo16uk: yo
jimscarver: any... but win win win is the focus.
jimscarver: hi
annihilant: what does "win win win" mean?
cairo16uk: i dont know
jimscarver: http://www.wikiworld.com/wiki/index.php/WinWinWin
annihilant: oh
annihilant: lol
annihilant: write a book if you haven't yet
jimscarver: WE are I hope....
cairo16uk: i am in the process of writing one
annihilant: oh
jimscarver: what about cairo?
cairo16uk: oh its kind of a book for teens written by a teen
cairo16uk: but for the mature, intelligent, teen
cairo16uk: like me
jimscarver: i am by nature an information physicist, hoping to complete a book on that too.
cairo16uk: cool
annihilant: what kind of education do you have jim?
jimscarver: nice
cairo16uk left the room
jimscarver: only got my BS in computer science, when back to school after 3 kids, but taught grad and undergrad as adjunt at njit for 20 years.
annihilant: okay
annihilant: that's not what i expected
jimscarver: what did you expect?
annihilant: some sort of professor
annihilant: Phd
annihilant: things like that
jimscarver: i'm lexdysic... can't spell, figured you thought i was a hillbilly
annihilant: lol
annihilant: how many people are in this "Collective Intelligence"
jimscarver: well, i was "professor" to my students.... need the cash from teaching, learned more teaching than taking the courses
jimscarver: 5 billion?
jimscarver: lol
annihilant: um...
annihilant: is that a joke?
annihilant: i don't get it
jimscarver: accourding to network theory, small pertibations have major effect on the system as a whole.
annihilant: um...
annihilant: lol
jimscarver: each person knows everyone within six links
annihilant: six links?
annihilant: pertibations?
annihilant: network theory?
annihilant: sorry
annihilant: i'm really lost
jimscarver: so we are attempting to actualize the collective intelligence of the whole world
annihilant: attempting
annihilant: but how many people are in the organization currently
jimscarver: yes, 4 are very active, about 20 others i guess.
annihilant: what does it require to fall under the discription of "very active"
jimscarver: participation several times a week
annihilant: how do they participate?
jimscarver: editing pages at wikiworld mostly, asking questions, adding links, organizing, etc.
annihilant: i see
annihilant: how long has this all been around?
tranny (twodida) joined the room
jimscarver: wikiworld started in June, i wrote the declaration of interdepencence about 10 years ago.
jimscarver: what are you into tranny?
annihilant: what about publicity?
jimscarver: SEE, I was a hippy, you know, "do your own thing, its grovey", etc.
annihilant: lol
annihilant: um..
jimscarver: I think we will get publicity when we are ready, at least on the internet
annihilant: okay
jimscarver: it is a matter of reaching a "critical mass" of participants.
annihilant: what do you plan to do then
jimscarver: like minded folks will find us sooner or later
jimscarver: populate the galaxy and beyond
annihilant: lol
annihilant: seriously
annihilant: you just plan to go live on mars or something
jimscarver: yes.
jimscarver: andromida
annihilant: andromida? sounds familiar, doesn't mean anything though
jimscarver: we will capitalize on the elimination of human suffering and the creatyion of value.
jimscarver: it is a not tooo far away galaxy.
annihilant: yea, if you like light years
annihilant: say you get there and it's gone
jimscarver: i like the outdoors, mars is indoors unless you have a pressure suit on...
jimscarver: it may take ten years or so to get there...
annihilant: ten years
annihilant: that's it
annihilant: that doesn't sound possibe
annihilant: possible
annihilant: *
jimscarver: at slightly more than one G acceleration, 10 years will do it.
annihilant: one G?
jimscarver: remember time slows down for the trveler.
jimscarver: traveler
annihilant: okay
annihilant: what about skateboarding?
jimscarver: there is no limit on how far you can go, but if you come back it will be the future...
annihilant: future?
annihilant: hmm, i suppose it would
annihilant: that'd be intresting
jimscarver: my nephew is a skateboarding nut.
annihilant: lol
annihilant: i am too
jimscarver: he is 10 i think, but pretty good.
annihilant: so what do you want to talk about?
ayesanto joined the room
jimscarver: hi
jimscarver: actually I have to work
annihilant: oh
annihilant: well
annihilant: okay
annihilant: I have to be going anyway
annihilant: thank you for answering my questions
annihilant: take care
jimscarver: i am looking for people that want to do something grand and can benifit by joining the collective intellegence, at wikiworld, or anywhere...
annihilant: i'm sure I'll find you again sometime and talk to you more
jimscarver: nice meeting you, enjoyed our talk...
annihilant left the room

Jim!! This is fantastic!! I have to mine this data for quotable material.  :-) Thanks for this great stuff. The scariest thing about reading this was I didn't think you sounded nuts at all. That means of course that I must be nearly as nuts as you. They will find us. I just want to make sure that when they do they recognize us. --DavidSiegel

So, Jim likes to Look To The Stars, eh? :D ---StarPilot
