DearDiary,

Thanksgiving was wonderful and I really have a wonderful pathetic life. I got nothing usefull done, but had great family time.

Things seem to be comming together in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/InfoPhysics

Perhaps I am becomming clear enough in my ideas that a research position in information physics is more than a pipe dream. I'll go see Wheeler again, hopefully he will remember me. I need to do a simnpler draft of the WhitescarverModel first with more complete references/links.

I suppose if I was rich too, life would be just too perfect.

Our banking project has come to an end, after 4 years they have decided to bring whatever online banking they are doing in house. We lost a wellness [[|http://synergy.xanthusinc.com/~jim/e2glite/wellness.html expert||http://synergy.xanthusinc.com/~jim/e2glite/KnowledgeBaseDevelopmentTasksand_Techneques.html]](see the concept prototype) system project also. We are hoping to get some government work (schedule 70) soon but I must consider outside employmwnt.

Dear CTO, CIO, and Human Resources Director,

I am an information technology professional with decades of far reaching experience. I am leaving my own company with a successful track record of mission critical applications for major companies delivered on time and within budget.. I feel my capabilities can be better utilized by a larger company, such as yours, having effective marketing resources. My talents are much better suited to developing solutions for customers and your company than spending much of my time marketing my own services.

I am ready, willing and able to fulfill whatever roles in system analysis, design, implementation and evaluation that can best utilize my talents within your organization. I can independently deliver solutions from requirements analysis, to development, in virtually any language or environment, through quality assurance, or work effectively on a team in any of these areas. Having directed many successful large projects I have the ability to mentor and manage junior staff members. Having taught at NJIT over a decade, I can deliver in house computer science and information technology training if required.

My initial salary requirement is eighty-five thousand dollars annually. I ask for the opportunity to prove that I can provide a much greater value back to your company.

Thank you for your consideration of my offer.

Jim Whitescarver

any comments from the peanut gallery?
pauldube: don't put the salary in there
pauldube: for 1 thing
pauldube: remove everything from there to the end
pauldube: instead, say
pauldube: I will contact you shortly to schedule a time to meet and discuss how I may add value to your orginization.
JimScarver: thanks. sounds good.

Far-reaching is hyphenated. So your company is going to be holding on to your track record? Perhaps you'd better bring it along. Try removing the ambiguity, perhaps like this: "I am leaving my own company, where I built a successful track record of delivering mission-critical applications for major companies -- on time and within budget." Remove comma after "requirements analysis" Change "through quality assurance" to "all the way through quality assurance," so that it can't be taken to mean "with quality assurance as my means."

Jim, you are leaving Xanthus? Well, good luck to you in your new endevours --StarPilot

No really leaving, was part time Xanthus for 15 years, full time five years, just going back to part time, maybe, the situation changes from day to day. A fair number of "Xanthus associates" have full time jobs outside-- Tom, Sal, Paul, ... Labor is too cheap these days and business too scarce, I just can't affort myself. --JimScarver
