InformationLens

From WikiWorld

ThomasMalone mentions InformationLens on his page.

Q: What is an InformationLens and what does it do?

The Information Lens: An Intelligent System for Information Sharing in Organizations

Problem addressed: efficient means of sharing information

Current situation:

  • Too much information to share
  • Too many people to share information with.
  • No automated protocal to get information to the people who want/need it
  • “Junk mail”

The Information lens is proposed to be a general comprehensive solution that intends to “help people filter, sort, and prioritize messages that are already addressed to them, and it also helps them find useful messages they would not otherwise have received.” (461)

Sounds like: http://news.com.com/2100-1023-946952.html

Banter is making a product that learns how a user deals with their email (answers which ones first, just deletes from person X or mention project Y, etc), and appropriately acts that way (moving 'user opens from Person X first' to top of inbox, etc).

Also sounds like PubWan, or guerrilla consumer education. If so, pleaze count me in
