References
Here is a short list of resources I find extremely useful for PocketPCs:
- http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/ : Microsoft PPC Site - General starting place for finding info on PocketPCs.
- http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/ : Web Site/Community - Great information and support about the PocketPC
- http://www.mobileplanet.com/ : Online retailer (Hardware) - I've had great service from these guys. I've acquired most of my periphereals for my PocketPC from them, so far. Keyboards (folding, thumb), sleeves, etc.
- http://www.handango.com/ : Online retailer (Software) - The vast majority of PocketPC software is marketted as shareware. Lots of trying before you buy it.
Uses
I use my PocketPC professionally as endless paper, and digital project books. I'm a programmer, and practically everything I do or need is digital, expect my project 'notes'. Now, even those are, and as a side benefit, I can have a copy of all my project related files with me at all times in a form factor that is as small as a Walkman cassette player/MP3 player.
I also use it from time to time for entertainment. I have a small collection of casual games on it, and I like being able to read ebooks on it when I'd otherwise have down time (waiting elsewhere).
