What good does it do for people to hoard their Money? If you want a healthy economy, you want to encourage them to spend it. And what better encouragement could there be than to cancel all liquid assets once per year? Let's call it PotLatch day to keep it non-denominational. People will go out frantically trying to get gifts for each other and investing in votes before their old money is rendered meaningless.

The day after the big PotLatch, everyone gets a wad of new money that lasts until the same time next year. And everyone gets the same amount of the stuff. Of course there are still wealth inequities in terms of the goods people own. But at least that's essential, or else there will be nothing to motivate quality in people's work.

We are talking in terms of chits. So what if people hoard their money? In AnewGo (country? AnewGo, you have to help me out there. We need an official thing to call the province of AnewGo) is there a reason to hoard? Sure, HumanGreed, but in a NewEconomy sense, no hoarding.

Hoarding is only a problem when currency or capital is limited and the economy is slow. Hoarding is good if the overactivity of the market is causing inflation.

In the NewEconomy we will have the flexibility to create the needed amount of new capital and currencies as needed to susstain growth and control inflation. Hoarding will not be a problem. Greed will still exist, the wealthy will just have less of an advantage in the game of creating or destroying value as the former will not require collateral and the latter will be taxed.
